The ADHD Clinic at UNCG was featured in the Fall 2015 Issue of the UNCG Research Magazine. The article, “Closing the Collegiate Gap in ADHD Research”, highlights a new research project that studies ADHD treatment programs for college students with ADHD.

UNCG Investigates ADHD

Colleges and universities across the country are seeking to assist students with ADHD. Through a $3.2 million grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Dr. Arthur D. Anastopoulos and his team are set to verify through research whether a treatment program that they recently developed is effective.

New Grant Award in the News

The local Greensboro newspaper, the News and Record, recently published this story on its front page, describing the grant award that Dr. Anastopoulos received from the Institute for Education Sciences.


NEW ADHD CLINIC REFERRAL POLICY

Effective April 1, 2015, the ADHD Clinic will no longer be accepting new child or adult referrals for evaluations or other clinical services. We will, however, continue to accept new referrals from UNCG students requesting our assistance. This change in referral policy allows us to better meet the needs of college students with ADHD, who recently have become a specialty focus of our clinical and research activities.

ABCT Reunion – Nashville 2013

Several current and past members of the ADHD Clinic team attended the November meeting of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in Nashville, TN.  Seen here in the picture with Dr. Anastopoulos’ are two current students: to his far right is Sarah O’Rourke, who is doing her internship training at the University of Florida; next is Allison Bray, who is doing her internship training at Baylor University.  Also included in the picture are two former students: to Dr. Anastopoulos’ immediate left is Dr. Nicole Schatz, currently in her second year of postdoctoral training with Dr. Greg Fabiano at the University of Buffalo; to his far left  is Dr. Laura Knouse, currently an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Richmond.

Congratulations are also in order for two additional members of our ADHD Clinic team who earned UNCG degrees this December. On the left is Naomi Chatley, one of the mentors in our ACCESS program, who received her Master’s degree in Psychology. On the right is Emilea Grubbs, a research assistant on our TRAC project, who received her B.A. in Psychology.

 

 

 


Welcome New Staff!

The ADHD Clinic is happy to announce that the following individuals have joined our Staff:

  • Dr. Laura H. Rhoads, who is working on both the TRAC and ACCESS projects
  • Dr. Marissa S. Griggs, who is working on TRAC
  • Anne Hiller, a first year graduate student in the General/Experimental Psychology Master’s degree program who is also working on TRAC
  • Emilea Grubbs, a senior at UNCG doing an Independent Study that includes working on TRAC
  • Valerie McConnell, our Office Assistant.
